We cannot see a project with new eyes without emotional distance. The best trick I’ve found for creating this distance is engaging my brain in a new idea. Once I latch onto a new problem or challenge to solve, my work in progress fades into the background. This creates an opportunity to see the work objectively when I return to it. I don’t believe this requires a specific amount of time, but rather an intentional release. Let go, and the work returns to you a stranger, so you can see it clearly and take it where you want to go next. How do you create distance to support revision? I’d love to hear if this resonates with you in the comments.

Good ideas. I do something similar. For me it's how I live: tasks, projects, writings, watching YouTube videos, listening to music, doing Substack, meditating, walking, contemplating, meeting friends, etc. – all of it is interwoven in my life's tapestry. The guiding principle is where my inner guidance/intuition points me, which in turn is where my passion and excitement lead me. When I have taken one thing as far as I can at the moment, I take the next most exiting thing to do. No boredom. Works for me, things get done, no struggle, just flow and fun. Maria
