It is easier to reach your goals when you focus them.
These days, when I think about everything I want to do creatively, my brain feels a lot like the image on the left of this diptych: cluttered, chaotic, and overwhelming. It helps to block out this big picture most of the time, only peeking at it occasionally as I focus on what I need to do for today. When we give ourselves boundaries to work within, our goals come into focus. Sometimes I take the day an hour at a time, just to limit my gaze. How can you narrow your focus right now? Can you put some blinders on to shut out the noise? Notice how you feel when you limit your to-do list to three items or less. Do you feel lighter? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
