We often joke about how inefficient the creative process can seem, but after reading this quote from E.B. White I decided to make a quick clock of one of my days this summer, just off the top of my head and with a dollop of self-deprecating humor. A more average clock might show a few more working hours between coaching and editing projects for other writers, but on the summer days when I get to indulge in my creative work without many constraints, my day is a delicious chaotic mess. It can feel like I’m not getting much done, but each of these activities moves me a step toward a destination I am trying to reach. What does your time look like?
